David Ramsland has lived and worked in Eurobodalla since 1986. David has painted extensively throughout his life, developing his own style and techniques, as well as observing and learning from others, he has been fortunate to focus on his love of painting more since retiring several years ago. David usually paints in oils and occasionally acrylics, drawing inspiration from the environment in which he lives.

The exhibition Light in the landscape showcased a range of his works (large and small) that typify his artistic creativity. On display were traditional landscapes, seascapes and bucolic vistas as well as pieces that reflected a more contemporary abstract interpretation of nature. David’s art is characterised by the lightness, simplicity and freedom of the brushwork he uses to evoke an imaginative interpretation of the interplay of light and mood within a subject.
