Cheryl Davison | Wonga and the Waratah
Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 4pm
Wonga and the Waratah is a large-scale installation that presents a local dreamtime story in an immersive visual form. Conceived and designed by local Aboriginal artist, Cheryl Davison, the year-long project engaged local Aboriginal makers in presenting a poignant local narrative.
Enter the world of Wonga the pigeon and trace her journey back to her nest after her encounter with a hawk. Hopping from flower to flower Wonga turns each flower red with blood from her broken wing.
