Volunteer of the Bas

Volunteers are a critical part to the success of an organisation, offering invaluable support to daily operations. The Bas is forming a volunteer team to assist with gallery duties, public programs and special events.

The Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre aims to provide a professional platform for local and national artists. People who wish to connect with our arts community and help expose the arts to our wider community have a new opportunity to do so by volunteering at the Bas.

Bas volunteers are primarily involved in gallery minding, which includes: welcoming patrons to the centre, informing them of current and upcoming exhibitions and events, collecting statistics and data and sharing the history of the Bas. Volunteers will also be asked to assist with events such as opening nights, artist talks, workshops and visiting school and community group tours. Volunteering can also make a difference to you by providing a chance to meet new people and share interests, skills and knowledge.

Volunteers will also enjoy volunteer-specific events, such as exhibition previews, floor talks, event presales, and morning/afternoon tea events. Volunteers who complete a probation period of two months or eight shifts will be entitled to free Bas membership.

Suitors of the Bas

The Bas is open to forming multiple relationships, with multiple partners. We aren’t kidding. Partnering with the Bas will allow both brands to achieve ‘power couple’ status. Just think; Us, the cool, new kid in town, whose job is showcasing the cream of Eurobodalla’s creative arts while also bringing artists and travelling exhibitions to our shire.
You, the knowledgeable and established brand who has the opportunity to reach a new and potentially untapped market. During this loved-up courtship we’ll happily offer:

  • Logo placement on the Bas website.
  • Logo placement on selected printed material.
  • Access to the Friends of the Bas via quarterly newsletters.
  • Personalised invitations to our exhibition program, special and member events.
  • Brand alliance with specific exhibitions or public programs.
  • Discounted venue hire.

The Bas offers a range of tiered partnership or one-off sponsorship opportunities. From offering discounts or value-adds on goods and services to annual financial contributions, we are happy to discuss and customise packs to suit your business. If this sounds good, then get in touch! And we can talk shop and decide on our couple name.
