Workshop: Introduction to life drawing with Miriam Shilling

Join experienced art teacher and renowned artist Miriam Shilling as she guides you into the world of life drawing:

  • explore the fundamentals and techniques for accurate proportions
  • sketch a live model (non-nude) in various poses
  • unleash your creativity with graphite pencil and charcoal.

Perfect for beginners or those with limited experience, this workshop will ignite your passion for life drawing and provide valuable insights for your artistic journey.

By the end of the workshop you will have a collection of life drawings showcasing your newfound skills. There is no need to bring anything but yourself, all materials are provided.

This is an ideal workshop if you:

  • have an interest in drawing
  • have limited experience in figure drawing
  • are aged 12 years or older.

About Miriam

Miriam Shilling is an accomplished high school art teacher with 18 years of experience. Her passion for art extends beyond the classroom, as she maintains her own art making practice specialising in watercolour and ceramics. Her unique perspective on the human body and its relationship to the ocean adds an intriguing element to her work. Miriam’s expertise and dedication to teaching will inspire and empower you to explore your own artistic potential.
