River of Dreams

-

Opening Hours: Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 4pm

Join us for champagne and canapés at the Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre when Archibald winner Wendy Sharpe opens the River of Dreams exhibition – the official opening of the 2019 River of Art Festival – from 6-8pm on Friday 17 May. Opening night patrons will relish the musical accompaniment by 2019 Narooma Busking Festival champion, harpist Yasmine Russell.

River of Dreams is the first in a series of river-themed exhibitions jointly hosted by the Bas and the River of Art.

This year, we invited artists who represent the depth of creative talent found in the Eurobodalla to imaginatively decipher the lyrics of Billy Joel’s River of Dreams. The result is an eclectic exhibition which celebrates unique musings on the natural environment and the song’s meaning.

Please join us for a lively conversation with selected artists from this years River of Dreams exhibition. Mediated by Indira Carmichael, artists will discuss their artistic process when approaching this years theme, the importance of the River of Art festival for artists and the Eurobodalla shire and dissect the mediums represented in this years exhibition. The audience will also be given the opportunity participate in the discussion with a Q&A session.
