About your presenter

David Ramsland, born in 1950s Australia, discovered his passion for painting in childhood, inspired by artist Bela Ivanyi. Painting became a lifelong obsession, exploring the interplay of paint on canvas. Ramsland, primarily self-taught, refined his techniques on the NSW south coast, creating landscapes, seascapes, and abstracts. Although primarily an oil painter, travels to Europe inspired watercolours, while occasional pen and ink pieces showcase his abstract style. With a knack for portraiture, Ramsland continues to find joy in manipulating light, form, and colour on canvas, eagerly anticipating new artistic challenges ahead.
