Workshop: Underglaze ceramic painting with Miriam Shilling

Cost: $120

Explore the possibilities of underglaze ceramic painting with multi-talented artist and teacher Miriam Shilling. Miriam will guide you through a number of techniques as you create three bisque tile artworks - ready to hang or gift.

In this workshop participants will learn:

  • how to apply underglaze pencils and paint to ceramic bisque ware
  • the processes involved in decorating ceramics.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who:

  • would like to add detail and interest to their ceramic pieces
  • has an interest in painting on unusual surfaces
  • enjoys painting, especially watercolour painting.

No ceramics experience necessary.

Saturday Sessions at the Bas are open to adult residents and visitors interested in immersing themselves in a fun and hands-on class. Participants can learn artistic techniques taught by some of Eurobodalla’s most talented artists. No previous experience is necessary.

About your presenter

Miriam Shilling has been a high school art teacher for the past 18 years. She has extensive experience teaching all aspects of art media, such as drawing, painting and sculpture. Miriam has her own art making practice and predominately works in watercolour and ceramics.
