Art exhibition: How we treat the earth - David Whitfield

Since studying environmental science 40 years ago, Whitfield now uses his artwork to initiate talk about the issues we seem to have forgotten. His exhibition highlights the ongoing struggle we face on a global scale. Pollution, the unsustainable exploitation of resources and the growing wealth disparity are themes that resonate deeply in his artwork.

Displaying his creative versatility, on view in Whitfield's exhibition are oil paintings, drawings, etch and block prints, watercolour and small sculpture.

Whitfield's exhibition serves as a poignant reminder of our interconnectedness with the earth and the urgent need to address these challenges.

Whitfield gained his Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in Western Australia in 1981 followed by his Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) in 1984. He completed his Master of Applied Science (Social Ecology) with the University of Western Sydney in 1998.

Whitfield has exhibited consistently since 1978 in galleries in Western Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales. He now lives on the south coast of New South Wales.
