Art exhibition | Southern Highlands Printmakers | An Australian Alphabet

-

Where: Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre, corner Vulcan Street and Campbell Street, Moruya

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm

The 26 letters of the English alphabet are familiar to most of us, but perhaps not the way the letters are presented in this illustrative exhibition.

Each member of Southern Highlands Printmakers (SHP) was allocated a letter of the alphabet and invited to create an artwork inspired by and themed on Australia. The resulting exhibition is a diverse and colourful depiction of both familiar and lesser-known aspects of Australia.

The exhibiting artists used a range of techniques to create these stunning works, including:

  • silkscreen
  • lino
  • woodblock printing
  • digital printing
  • etching
  • lithography
  • mono-printing
  • stencilling
  • collagraph
  • letterpress.
