Natalie Bateman is a Walbanja-Yuin woman with a deep connection to her family and the beautiful land she lives on.
Natalie is always looking for ways to release her creativity, knowing her ancestors walked on this land before her provides empowerment. Being on country, surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature, Natalie sees so much, and her mind is inspired.
The use of triangles in Natalie’s work represents who she is, her DNA, the connection to the land, the song lines. It brings her joy when she hears people talk of seeing these designs move and shift, as the flow between land, body, and culture is what she is seeking.
