Art exhibition: Singularity Sphere - Nettie Coleman
-
Where: Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre, corner Vulcan Street and Murray Street, Moruya
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm. Access from Murray Street after 12.30pm on Saturdays.
Singularity Sphere is an immersive multimedia installation that invites an exploration of ethereal cyberspace. Video projections fill the space, allowing you to move through and around planes of light, data and images as if submerged in a digital landscape.
Layers of translucent fabric hold shifting fields of data and video where natural and synthetic forms dissolve into one another.
Viewers find themselves becoming part of the work as they are surrounded by visual processing languages, both seeing what the machine sees and themselves being seen by it. Surrounded by light, code and reflection, viewers become part of the system itself, suspended between observer and observed within a constantly shifting digital landscape.
This is the second exhibition of the collaboration between the Bas and the ANU School of Art and Design, designed to bridge the gap between professional arts practice and school-based creative programs such as the Little Sellers Art Prize. Nettie Coleman is the graduate selected for 2026, which includes an exhibition opportunity and outreach sessions with local high school students. These sessions offer valuable insights into the graduate’s university experience and emerging career, timed to support students during key decision-making periods. The program is proudly supported by Basil Sellers AM.
