Tell us about your practice and the works in the exhibition
My art practice is based on observing the natural world and through drawing, feeding my imagination to transform ideas into artworks. Travelling extensively in my formative years in Europe, UK and Asia and absorbing historical and contemporary art in the museums gave me a deep understanding of art.
My art practice continues to explore the immediate environment of my home, the south coast of NSW.
Painting, lino-cut prints and assemblage sculpture are the media I work with. The themes and narratives for completed works often overlap between these disciplines. Assemblages and three-dimensional objects frequently suggest imagery for paintings and prints.
